Is the party over for Redfoo and SkyBlu, otherwise known as party-rocking duo, LMFAO? According to Redfoo the band have decided to “focus on individual projects” for the near foreseeable future.
“I feel like we’ve been doing this for so long, five or six years,” he told news.com.au. “And we’re kind of like saying, well, let’s just do what’s natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.” He added that he and SkyBlu were headed in “different directions” and didn’t know when (or if) the pair would ever reunite musically.
The duo – an uncle and nephew, formed in 2006, releasing their debut album Party Rock in 2009, which scored a nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the Grammy Awards. The boys found the majority of their success after the release of their second album, Sorry for Party Rocking.
So what does the future hold?
Redfoo revealed that he has plans to release a fashion line and launch a solo career, saying: “All the music that I’m going to make is always going to be LMFAO-ish. I was really passionate about bringing party music to the world, so I will always be making some kind of party music.”
