As we saw on tonight’s “Teen Mom 2,” Leah and Corey’s legal battle took its final toll and prevented any chance of reconciliation. Luckily, things went relatively smoothly as far as gaining shared custody, but Leah provides more back story in the “Teen Mom 2 After Show” clip below. She tells host Maci Bookout that she and Corey were so scared to talk to each other throughout the divorce process because any contact they had could be used against them in court. And without talking candidly, how were they ever supposed to work the relationship out? It was a lose-lose situation.
The next step was learning how to move forward. Leah read Corey’s emails and found out he was already sort of seeing a new girl, which prompted her to question why she was waiting around. While her fellow cast members laugh that they’ve all hacked their boyfriends’ accounts before, Leah notes that seeing the messages actually gave her the courage to walk away for good. “Knowing that he’s moving on–maybe it wasn’t really meant to to be,” she says. “So, I was ready to take that next step and move forward as well.”
To hear more from Leah and the other girls, including where they think they’d be if they never had kids, check out the video, and don’t forget to tune in to “Teen Mom 2” every Monday night at 10:00pm et/pt.
