Lindsay Lohan is finally giving fans with a look at her latest acting gig, portraying tabloid queen Elizabeth Taylor, in the brand-new teaser trailer for the Lifetime film “Liz & Dick.”
Lohan channels the screen icon’s ultra-glamorous style in the teaser as she throws bottles at, cries, fights and gets frisky with “True Blood” actor Grant Bowler, playing Taylor’s most infamous real-life and onscreen love interest, Richard Burton. (“They drink. They fight. They fornicate!” one character says in the clip.)
The trailer only features a few moments of dialogue from Lohan, and her snappiest line comes at the trailer’s end. When shamed for ending her fourth marriage, she snaps back, “Who’s counting?”
“Liz & Dick” is set to premiere on Lifetime in November. Lohan shot the film over the summer, and by August, fans got to see some official stills from the film, including a look at Lohan in full Cleopatra costuming.
Filming, however, wasn’t all smooth sailing. The production was investigated by International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and the actors’ union SAG-AFTRA after multiple reports surfaced of the cast and crew suffering from exhaustion. The investigation was also tied to an incident where Lohan was found unconscious in her hotel room.
She later joked about the incident on Twitter, writing, “Note to self. After working 85hours in 4days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door. Hopefully theyre cute. Otherwise it would be a real let down.”
