Thursday night’s premiere marks the beginning of the end of the “Jersey Shore.” It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly three years since we were introduced to the housemates that invaded Seaside, New Jersey, and throughout the seasons, we have grown to love their GTL, fist-pumping ways.
“I think it’s crazy,” Pauly D recently told MTV News in regards to the final season. “We’ve been through so much together that I still can’t believe it’s been six seasons.”
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino added, “We are taking it day by day right now and we’re concentrating on season six, and whatever the future may bring, we’re ready for it. We’re excited for viewers to see number six because we think it’s going to be a good one.”
Much like in the past, the sixth and final season promises drama, fights and awkward hook-ups, but it also brings along a big dose of reality. Snooki enters the house six months pregnant, and “The Situation” returns to the shore after battling a prescription-medication addition and is sober for the first time in the house, which Ronnie Ortiz-Magro jokes, might be the most surprising thing we see throughout their summer on the boardwalk.
“Most shocking thing is that Mike actually checked into the house this season,” Ronnie said, laughing. “The Situation” replied, “I always check in, maybe not on time though.”
Pauly D admitted that Snooki’s pregnancy was the most shocking thing for him this season, but despite all the changes, Pauly promises that you will still see the same “Jersey Shore.”
“I don’t think it changed,” Pauly D said of the dynamic in the house. “The show’s reality, and that’s what the coolest thing about it is, things happen in reality, people get pregnant, some people deal with situations going to rehab. Get it? “Situations” going to rehab. That was good. I need to write that down. No, it’s cool. It’s just real life.”
Ronnie agreed that even though Snooki and “The Situation” couldn’t partake in some of their crazy antics, they still were able to enjoy their final summer in Seaside.
“Mike wasn’t able to go crazy, but he still went to the clubs and had a good time,” Ronnie said. “Snooki still showed up to the house and was herself. She was pregnant and responsible, but the rest of us went crazy and we did what the fans wanted us to do, but Mike still went out and had a good time, but was a good boy.”
