This past Sunday (December 2) was the first ever MuchMusic Big Jingle hosted at the Air Canada Center in downtown Toronto. Everyone who was anyone came out to celebrate the holiday season. With performances by Sky Blu, Carly Rae Jepsen and the Wanted to name a few, it was the ultimate way to kick off the month of December and dive right into the festivities!
It was the first time for many LMFAO fans to see Sky Blu ‘Party Rockin’ solo but he didn’t fail to impress. Decked out head-to-toe in glitter sneakers, white jeans with red ‘Ho Ho’ decals and a Santa hat to top it off, Sky Blu was killing it! Mainly sticking to LMFAO classics like, ‘Shots‘ and ‘Party Rock Anthem,’ he also featured his latest work with the Cataracs titled, ‘Alcohol.’
After his set MTV News had a chance to chat with Sky Blu about his upcoming projects, “I’m really excited because I’m able to show the world who Sky Blu is and who I am…” he told MTV News, ‘I’ve got a full album coming next year, three singles I’m dropping in January… I’m really excited for all of them.”
The upcoming album will feature more variety from the ‘party rocker’ including a hip-hop track and a Latin jam, “I really love music… it’s like my religion, I just love the way it makes me feel.”
While we had Sky in the press room we couldn’t let him go without asking about his most memorable holiday moment – it was the Big Jingle after all. True to form, Sky’s story didn’t fall short of his character! Check out the clip below to find out what happened after Sky Blu’s favourite Christmas gift was taken away the very same day he unwrapped it!
Don’t forget to tune in and watch the Big Jingle broadcast December 12 at 9:00pm et/6:00pm pt on MuchMusic!
