The 2012 MTV EMA lineup just keeps growing. On Tuesday (October 8), it was announced that performers No Doubt, Taylor Swift and Muse will have company when the show goes live on November 11. Nominees Carly Rae Jepsen, Fun. and Rita Ora are now among the night’s big performers.
“This will be my first time at the MTV EMAs, and I am beyond thrilled — feeling like a lucky duck for the nominations and the chance to perform,” the “Call Me Maybe” singer said about her debut at next month’s awards show. “Now the only concern is what to wear?! Let the party begin, Frankfurt.”
Rockers Fun. added, “It’s so incredible that we’ll be playing at the MTV EMAs, when not that long ago not many people knew who we were in Europe! It just feels like that dream most people don’t get to experience.”
All of the scheduled performers will take the stage at the famed Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany. Roc Nation’s Rita Ora, who kicked off her MTV-hosted tour on Monday, also gushed about next month’s event. “I’m so excited to be part of the 2012 MTV EMAs! And to be nominated is incredible — let’s have some fun this year!”
For those keeping score, Rihanna rules the EMA nominations with six; she’s followed closely behind by Swift who’s snagged five nods. Justin Bieber and Katy Perry are each up with four nominations. The 2012 MTV EMAs will air on Sunday, November 11, at 8:00pm et/5:00pm pt on MuchMusic. Additional performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.
