The 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards kicked off with host and supermodel, Heidi Klum, lighting up the stage in Frankfurt, Germany, with fire and all. Heidi Klum started the show by welcoming Rita Ora as the first performer of the night followed by Fun. rocking out with their hit song, “We Are Young” featuring Janelle Monae, which also happens to be up for EMA Best Song of the year.

Following Fun., Canadian sensation, Carly Rae Jepsen sang her heart out with the summer hit that made her, “Call Me Maybe.” Carly Rae is up for three EMAs including Best Song, Best New Artist and EMA Best Push.
